Museu de la Pell d'Igualada i Comarcal de l'Anoia
The Museu de la Pell d’Igualada i Comarcal de l’Anoia consists of the Leather Museum, the tannery of Cal Granotes (18th century), the section "L’home i l’aigua" (People and Water) and the Gas Generator of Can Pascual. Three sectors comprise the visit to the exhibition: leather in history and its cultural importance in Mediterranean society; a world of leather that reveals the diversity of uses and application this material has; from the “clots” to the “bombos”, providing an explanation, with machinery, of the technical evolution of leather production through to its final mechanisation. The Cal Boyer building corresponds to a former cotton textile factory from the late 19th century. The main site of the leather museum, Museu de la Pell d’Igualada i Comarcal de l’Anoia. It is also known as the "Vapor Nou". Refurbishment work began in 1986.
