In February, the “rua del Carnaval” parades through the city’s main streets with its floats presided over by king “Carnestoltes”. On 23rd April, the square Cal Font becomes a showcase for books and roses in honour of Sant Jordi. On 24th June, the festival of Sant Joan is held and the Flama del Canigó arrives in the square outside City Hall. The National Day of Catalunya, the Diada, is held on 11 September, with speakers and concerts. In November, concerts are held all over the city in honour of Santa Cecília. Christmas celebrations include the opening of the nativity scene that presides over the square outside City Hall and the singing of traditional yuletide carols. LOCALTIONMAPA GOOGLE
